Next Black, Black Heart's Next Form was the inspiration for this. The Lastation version of the GG (Galvanic Gunner) Aleste ship gets its NEXT equipment.
Built under secrecy, the New Experimental Thruster "Black Blade" is more than just a dimensional cruiser for the Aleste Noire, its a behemoth of heavy beams which most enemies will surely prefer to avoid any fight with it. It's equipping of Hi-powered Laser armament and Armor-piercing Blades.
A better reason for an enemy to avoid any attack to this ship isn't just the Share-powered Shielding protecting the Aleste Noire and the NEXT, if the equipment reaches a critical damage condition, the pilot can detach the unit and give the enemy a nasty surprise: Beam Storm, the Shares which powered the shields will scatter on the battlefield as a deadly rain of lasers hitting everything on a 6 mile radius, a spherical range of 6 miles of laser destruction awaiting for any unfortunate enemy forces within that area.
