Games and gaming companies appear and fade away whatever the reasons, just like Capcom's idiotic decisions of cancelling "Megaman Universe" and "Megaman Legends 3", or the closure of Irem, the company who brought us the "R-Type" series of games which marked a whole generation of gamers with the never-ending struggle against the Bydo Empire. Sadly another company joins to the list of fallen companies. This time was Warashi, the developer of the "Shienryu", "Shienryu Explosion" and "Sengeki Striker", but mostly remembered for two words: Triggerheart Exelica.
On October 26th, the company site (and TH site) suddenly disappeared, at first i thought it was a server error, but as of today, the company's site is still down so i can only assume the company closed.
I think the reason behind Warashi's "Death" was the over-explotation of Exelica, yep, she was quite popular but re-making the same game more than once isn't a good idea. It may worked with "Street Fighter II" but that's a whole different story. I know shmups had re-makes sometimes, "Thunder Force V: Perfect System", the "Enhanced" PlayStation port of the Sega Saturn version, but the game was upgraded only once and that's it. While TH was "re-rebuilt" three times: XBOX Live Arcade, PlayStation 2 and iMode, isn't that too much?, it would be more profitable to make a sequel rather than re-do the same thing.
It was fun when it lasted, but like everything in life, even games have to come to an end (even games). Thanks Warashi, thank you for your contributions to the shmup fans.

A G1 in my collection
The 2013 its just beginning and my Transformers collection has a very special figure, my first G1 Transformer in my collection: Grimlock.
Although some of my R.I.D. figures are G1 repaints (Ruination) it's not the same that having an authentic Generation 1 figure, and in Grimlock's case it's also a good thing to see what i have is not the KO Reissue, the wear on chrome and stickers and its loose joints are the solid evidence of the time that passed by on the Dinobot.
Besides of the blocky appearance and simple transformation, it's nice to have a figure from the beginnings of the Transformers.
